슬로바키아 TV 공장 폐쇄, 소스 확인된다고 보도 / Samsung Electronics to shut down TV plant in Slovakia, sources say

Samsung Electronics Co. is shutting down its TV production plant in Slovakia, according to industry sources.

The Galanta facility will close in May after 24 years of operation, as the company seeks to improve operational efficiency.

The move is attributed to ongoing weak growth in the global TV market and increased competition, with additional pressures from high energy costs in Slovakia and rising production expenses driven by higher prices for memory and other components.

Since its establishment in 2002, the Galanta plant has been supplying televisions to the European market. The factory employs about 700 workers, and the company plans to assist in reemployment efforts for affected staff.
