Authorities sought an arrest warrant for a former pilot suspected of fatally stabbing an airline pilot in Busan, according to police officials. The suspect, a man in his 50s identified by surname Kim, was taken into custody Tuesday evening after the alleged murder at an apartment in Busan early that morning.
Police say Kim has admitted to planning the crime for about three years and indicated a broader intent to kill four people. Following the Busan incident, he allegedly visited another former colleague’s home in Changwon to carry out an additional attack, which authorities say failed.
In addition, Kim is accused of attempting to strangle and kill another former pilot colleague on Monday in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, before fleeing the scene. Reports indicate the suspect’s estrangement from former colleagues occurred after he lost his job two years earlier.
