The bereaved families of 26 foreign victims from the tragic crowd accident in Seoul in 2022 will visit Korea this week to commemorate the third anniversary of the incident, according to a statement from the bereaved families group.
The 26 foreign victims, hailing from 14 countries, were among the 159 individuals who lost their lives during Halloween festivities in a narrow alley of Itaewon in central Seoul on October 29, 2022.
The group reported that 46 family members of 21 of the 26 victims will be in Seoul for a week, following an official invitation from the Korean government. The visitors represent 12 countries, including Iran, Russia, the United States, Australia, China, Japan, France, Austria, Norway, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
Most of the foreign families are expected to arrive in Korea on Friday and will begin their official schedule with a visit to the disaster site near Exit 1 of Itaewon Station at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Additionally, they will participate in a memorial service marking the third anniversary of the disaster and will have the opportunity to meet with Korean bereaved families.

유가족 그룹에 따르면, 26명 중 21명의 유가족 46명이 한국 정부의 공식 초청으로 서울에 7일간 체류할 예정이다. 이들은 이란, 러시아, 미국, 호주, 중국, 일본, 프랑스, 오스트리아, 노르웨이, 스리랑카, 카자흐스탄, 우즈베키스탄 등 12개국에서 온 사람들이다.
대부분의 외국 유가족은 금요일에 한국에 입국하며, 토요일 오후 1시에 이태원역 1번 출구 근처의 사고 현장을 방문하는 공식 일정을 시작할 예정이다.
그들은 또한 사고 3주기 기념식에 참석하고 한국 유가족들과 만날 예정이다.
