"Golden," the hit single from the original soundtrack of the Netflix animation film "KPop Demon Hunters," has topped the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for a fifth week. According to the chart released on Friday, "Golden" has held the top position for four consecutive weeks since it first reached No. 1 on August 1.
The song, performed by the film's fictional girl group Huntr/x, features contributions from composer Ejae, who was trained at SM Entertainment, as well as Korean American singer Audrey Nuna and South Korean-born U.S. artist Rei Ami. "Golden" marks the first K-pop song to reach No. 1 in the UK in 13 years, following Psy's "Gangnam Style" in 2012.
In addition to its UK success, "Golden" also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States earlier this week. Other tracks from the soundtrack have also achieved notable rankings on the British chart, with "Soda Pop" and "Your Idol" positioned at fifth and eighth, respectively, while "Takedown" ranked 24th.
Furthermore, the animated film has become Netflix's most-watched movie of all time, accumulating 236 million views since its release on June 20, surpassing previous records.
