In the Braves' 6-5 win over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit on Saturday, Kim batted 1-for-4 and scored the final run for the team.
After flying out in the second inning and grounding out in his next two at-bats, Kim kept his hitting streak alive in the ninth inning. With Ozzie Albies on first base and the Braves trailing 5-4, Kim singled to right field, advancing the tying run to second base.
Although the next two Braves batters struck out, Nacho Alvarez Jr. singled to drive in Albies, tying the score at 5-5. Jurickson Profar then singled, bringing Kim home for a 6-5 Braves lead, which they maintained to secure the victory and hand the Tigers their fifth consecutive loss.
Kim is currently batting .311 in 17 games in September since joining the Braves off waivers, a significant improvement from his .214 average in 24 games with the Tampa Bay Rays.
In other Major League Baseball news on Saturday, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants ended a seven-game hitless streak with a multihit performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Lee batted 2-for-4 in a 7-5 loss at Dodger Stadium, recovering from an 0-for-20 slump that had dropped his batting average by 10 points. His average increased from .261 to .263 following his first multihit game since September 8.
Lee recorded singles in the first and third innings but struck out in the fifth and grounded into a fielder's choice in the seventh.
