Hankook Tire has commenced the supply of its high-performance tires for Xiaomi's inaugural electric crossover SUV, the YU7, as announced by the Korean tire manufacturer on Monday.
This collaboration is expected to enhance Hankook Tire's footprint in the competitive Chinese market. The tires, known as the iON evo SUV, have been specifically developed to align with the vehicle's requirements and will be provided as original equipment.
The YU7 boasts a range of up to 760 kilometers on a single charge, according to standards set by the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. Hankook Tire highlights the tire's balanced driving characteristics, which include superior grip, responsive handling, and robust braking performance, contributing to safe and stable driving across various road conditions.
Additionally, the high-performance tires are engineered to accommodate high torque and heavier loads, addressing the increasing demand for quieter rides. These features are deemed essential for electric SUVs. Hankook Tire has implemented a high-load tire profile aimed at evenly distributing ground pressure, coupled with enhanced cornering stiffness to further optimize performance.
