The K-Music Festival, a decade-long celebration of Korean music in London, is set to return this October with a lineup featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Cho Seong-jin.
Since its inception in 2013, the festival, organized by the Korean Cultural Centre U.K., has aimed to introduce European audiences to a diverse range of Korean music, extending beyond K-pop to include contemporary, traditional, and experimental artists.
Cho Seong-jin will perform a piano concerto composed specifically for him by Korean composer Shin Dong-hoon on November 20 at Barbican Hall. This performance will mark the world premiere of the piece in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Cho and Shin previously worked together in January, when Cho performed Shin’s "My Shadow," an ensemble piece featuring two violins, clarinet, cello, and piano, alongside members of the Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin.
The festival will kick off on October 1 with a performance by composer and cellist Lee Ok-kyung, who will collaborate with U.K.-based electronic artist Mark Fell at Kings Place.
On October 5, the Korean post-rock band JAMBINAI will return to the festival for a second time, performing with the London Contemporary Orchestra at the Barbican.

축제의 첫 공연은 10월 1일에 작곡가이자 첼리스트인 이옥경이 영국 전자 음악가 마크 펠과 함께 킹스 플레이스에서 진행됩니다.
10월 5일에는 한국 포스트 록 밴드 잠비나이가 바비컨에서 런던 현대 오케스트라와 함께 두 번째로 축제에 참여할 예정입니다.
