Former Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul was summoned for questioning on Saturday by a special counsel team investigating former President Yoon Suk Yeol's attempt to impose martial law.
The special counsel team stated, "We are questioning Cho," in a brief media release. Cho was called in as a person of interest rather than a suspect.
The questioning focuses on the circumstances surrounding a Cabinet meeting that took place shortly before Yoon declared martial law on December 3. Cho was one of the select Cabinet members who attended this meeting.

특별검사팀은 언론에 배포한 간단한 성명에서 "조를 질문하고 있다"고 밝혔다.
조는 혐의자 아니라 관심 대상자로 소환되어 윤 대통령이 12월 3일 계엄령을 선포하기 직전에 열린 내각 회의와 관련된 상황에 대해 질문을 받았다.
그는 회의에 참석한 select 내각 구성원 중 한명이었다.
