The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced the successful conclusion of its annual Washington Doorknock visit, which took place from June 9 to 12. During this four-day event, the organization presented the new Korean president as a "visionary leader" to the U.S. administration.
According to AMCHAM, its high-level delegation conducted nearly 40 meetings with senior U.S. government officials, members of Congress, and leaders of influential policy institutions in Washington. The purpose of these meetings was to advance key economic priorities in the bilateral partnership between the United States and Korea.
U.S. officials participating in the discussions included representatives from the Treasury, Commerce, State, Energy, and Defense Departments, as well as the National Security Council and the offices of the U.S. Trade Representative and the Vice President. The delegation also met with four U.S. senators, seven House representatives, and professional staff from ten senators' offices and one House representative's office.
AMCHAM Chairman noted that there was limited awareness or opinion regarding President Lee Jae-myung among officials in Washington, D.C.

미국 내 한국에서 운영되는 회사들을 대표하는 비즈니스 로비 그룹에 따르면, 고위급 대표단은 양국 파트너십의 주요 경제 우선 사항을 진전시키기 위해 거의 40회의 회의를 미국 정부 고위 관계자, 의원, 그리고 워싱턴의 저명한 정책 기관의 지도자들과 가졌다.
참여한 미국 정부 관계자에는 재무부, 상무부, 국무부, 에너지부, 국방부의 대표는 물론, 국가안전보장회의, 미국 무역대표부, 부통령 사무실의 관계자들이 포함되었다. 또한, 네 명의 미국 상원 의원, 일곱 명의 하원 의원과 함께 10명의 상원 의원 사무실 및 한 명의 하원 의원 사무실의 전문 직원들이 AMCHAM 대표단과 만났다.
AMCHAM 의장은 "워싱턴 D.C.에서는 이재명 대통령에 대한 의견이 매우 적었다"고 말했다.
