Due to the absence of a transition team and limited time for coordination, Lee is expected to temporarily continue operations from Yongsan, the same location used by his predecessor, the impeached former President Yoon Suk Yeol. Aides have indicated that this decision is driven by practical constraints rather than a permanent choice.
“President Lee has made it clear that Yongsan is not a permanent solution,” stated a campaign official. “He intends to restore Cheong Wa Dae as the executive center and pursue the relocation of key state functions, including the presidential office and National Assembly, to Sejong during his term.”
During his campaign, Lee criticized the Yongsan move, labeling it costly and poorly planned. He advocated for a broader decentralization approach instead.

캠페인 관계자는 "이 대통령은 용산이 영구적인 해결책이 아님을 분명히 했다"라고 말했다.
"그는 청와대를 행정 중심으로 복원하고 대통령실 및 국회 등 주요 국가 기능을 세종으로 이전할 의도를 가지고 있다"고 덧붙였다.
이 대통령은 캠페인 중 용산 이전을 비판하며 비용이 많이 들고 계획이 미흡하다고 주장했다.
대신 그는 한국의 더 넓은 분권화를 옹호했다.
