Can traditions be lost when they collide with modernity? This question is increasingly relevant as social media and new technologies shape our lives. The Hahoe Festival, celebrating its sixth anniversary, serves as an example of how to balance tradition with modernity.
Originally from Busan in Korea’s southeastern region, the festival is set to take place on June 7 and 8 at Andong’s Korean Culture Theme Park. The event aims to highlight the essence of Korean culture through community engagement.
Under the leadership of cultural director Choi Ji-won, also known as DJ OENN in the electronic music scene, the Hahoe Festival uniquely blends global modern culture with Korean folk traditions.
