The season's first heat wave advisory was issued on Sunday for inland areas of Gyeonggi Province surrounding Seoul. The Korea Meteorological Administration announced the advisory for regions including Pocheon, Gapyeong, Paju, Anseong, and Yeoju, effective from 9 a.m.
A heat wave advisory is declared when the day’s highest sensible temperature is projected to remain at or exceed 33 degrees Celsius for two or more consecutive days. This year’s first advisory comes five days later than last year’s, which was issued on June 5.
In 2024, the first heat wave alert was issued on June 10 for parts of the Gyeongsang regions.
경기도 내륙 지역, 특히 서울을 둘러싼 지역에 대해 첫 번째 폭염 주의보가 일요일에 발효되었다.
기상청은 오전 9시부터 포천, 가평, 파주, 안성, 여주 등 경기도 내륙 지역에 대해 주의보를 발효한다고 발표했다.
폭염 주의보는 낮 최고 체감 온도가 33도 이상으로 이틀 이상 지속될 것으로 예상될 때 발효된다.
올해의 첫 폭염 주의보는 작년보다 5일 늦게 발효되었다. 2024년에는 경상도 일부 지역에 대해 6월 10일에 첫 주의보가 발효되었다.
