E-commerce giant Coupang announced on Monday a shift from a co-representative leadership system to a sole representative system, appointing Park Dae-joon as sole representative. This change is part of the company's strategy to drive growth through innovations in artificial intelligence (AI)-based logistics.
Previously led by two representative directors, Park and Kang Han-seung, Coupang has highlighted Park's contributions in expanding its popular Rocket Delivery service and developing new ventures, including its streaming platform Coupang Play and food delivery service Coupang Eats.
With this leadership transition, Coupang aims to enhance its AI-driven logistics services and facilitate greater access for small businesses to sell products on its platform. Park has also taken on the additional role of chairman of the board.
Kang will transition to a new position focusing on developing business opportunities in North America and supporting the company's overseas operations.
Coupang reiterated its commitment to further expanding the Rocket Delivery service as part of its growth strategy.

박대준은 쿠팡의 유명한 로켓배송 서비스의 전국적 확장을 주도했으며, 스트리밍 플랫폼 쿠팡플레이와 음식 배달 서비스 쿠팡이츠를 포함한 새로운 성장 사업 개발을 이끌어왔다고 회사는 보도자료에서 밝혔다.
리더십 변화에 따라 쿠팡은 AI 기반 물류 서비스를 더욱 강화하고 소규모 기업들이 자사 플랫폼을 통해 제품을 판매할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다. 박대준은 이사회 의장 역할도 맡았다.
강 한승은 쿠팡으로 이동하여 북미에서의 사업 기회 개발을 주도하고 해외 운영을 지원할 예정이다. 쿠팡은 로켓배송 서비스를 한국으로 더욱 확장하는 데 집중할 것이라고 밝혔다.
