The KT Wiz announced the signing of former major league outfielder Andrew Stevenson on Saturday. In a corresponding move, the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club released outfielder Mel Rojas Jr., who had played parts of six seasons with the Wiz in two stints.
The Wiz stated that Stevenson, 31, will earn US$200,000 for the remainder of the season. Stevenson was selected in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Washington Nationals and made his MLB debut with the team two years later, remaining with the Nationals until 2021.
After spending the entire 2022 season in the minors, Stevenson signed with the Minnesota Twins as a free agent in 2023. He played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball last year before returning to the United States to join the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Throughout his MLB career, Stevenson participated in 273 games, achieving a batting average of .243 with eight home runs, 50 RBIs, and 55 runs scored. In seven Triple-A seasons, he recorded 53 home runs and 252 RBIs with a .290 batting average. However, in 24 games in Japan, Stevenson batted .161 without hitting a home run or driving in any runs.

일본에서 24경기 동안 스티븐슨은 타율 .161을 기록하며 홈런 없이 경기를 마쳤다.
