Kbank has signed a memorandum of understanding with a domestic blockchain company, BPMG, to enhance its stablecoin-based financial services. The agreement was announced on Wednesday as part of Kbank's initiative to innovate in the digital banking sector.
BPMG, established in 2021, specializes in services related to blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). The company offers a range of products, including the KMINT multichain wallet, blockchain platform development, and stablecoin consulting. It holds several core technology patents in blockchain and has expanded its ecosystem through various partnerships.
Under the agreement, both companies acknowledged that stablecoins have practical applications in overseas remittances, currency exchange, and payments. They plan to jointly develop specific business models in these areas while collaborating on building the necessary infrastructure.
A key objective of the partnership is to utilize blockchain's distributed ledger technology to reduce remittance times and lower transaction costs. Additionally, Kbank and BPMG intend to create financial services that integrate AI and blockchain, leveraging BPMG's patented technology to automate regulatory analysis.
