Audi has unveiled the all-new A5 sedan in Korea, the company announced on Tuesday.
This model is produced using Audi’s newly developed Premium Platform Combustion, designed for plug-in hybrid and combustion engine vehicles. The third-generation Audi A5 sedan is notable for incorporating high-efficiency mild hybrid (MHEV) Plus technology for the first time in its diesel model.
The MHEV Plus technology features a powertrain generator, belt alternator starter, and lithium iron phosphate battery, enhancing performance while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Since its initial production in 2008, the A5 sedan has garnered a loyal following due to its sporty luxury design, tech-focused interior, impressive comfort, and competitive performance.
Audi aims to compete with rivals such as Mercedes-Benz’s C-Class and BMW’s 4 Series. Each trim of the A5 is equipped with the brand's signature Quattro all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox, ensuring dynamic driving performance.

프리미엄 플랫폼 내연기관(Premium Platform Combustion)을 기반으로 새롭게 개발된 생산 플랫폼에서 제조된 3세대 아우디 A5 세단은 최초로 아우디의 디젤 모델에 고효율 마일드 하이브리드(MHEV) 플러스 기술이 탑재되었다.
아우디에 따르면, MHEV 플러스 기술은 파워트레인 발전기, 벨트 알터네이터 스타터 및 리튬 인산철 배터리를 통합하여 성능 개선, 연료 소비 감소 및 배출가스 저감을 제공한다.
2008년 첫 생산 이후 A5 세단은 기술 중심의 실내, 견고한 안락함, 경쟁력 있는 성능을 갖춘 스포츠 럭셔리 디자인으로 많은 팬을 끌어왔다.
독일의 럭셔리 자동차 브랜드는 메르세데스-벤츠 C-Class와 BMW 4 시리즈와 같은 경쟁자들과 맞설 준비가 되어 있다고 전했다.
Audi A5의 각 트림은 다이나믹한 주행 성능을 제공하기 위해 자동차 제조사의 시그니처인 쿼트로(All-Wheel Drive) 시스템과 7단 S 트로닉(Dual-Clutch Gearbox)을 갖추고 있다.
A5 40은 한국에 출시될 예정이다.
