K-pop star G-Dragon has canceled an upcoming concert in Thailand due to concerns over fan safety amid extreme heat, as announced by his agency on Friday.
The concert was set to take place on August 2 at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok as part of his "Ubermensch" world tour. The agency, Galaxy Corporation, stated that the decision to cancel was made after evaluating the risks of holding an outdoor event in the current scorching weather conditions, which have resulted in an increase in heat-related illnesses in the area.
"The health and safety of fans was the top priority in making the decision," the agency said in a statement.
As tickets for the Bangkok show had not yet gone on sale, no refunds are required. The agency also mentioned plans to reschedule the concert as soon as possible, considering weather conditions and fan safety.
