President Lee Jae-myung held a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik and leaders of various political parties on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for cooperation in governance. This meeting followed a swearing-in ceremony at the National Assembly.
During a luncheon attended by Woo, Park Chan-dae, acting leader of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), Kim Yong-tae, interim leader of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP), and leaders of four minor parties, Lee stated, "No one can get 100 percent of everything they want." He expressed a desire for concessions and compromises to create policies that benefit the majority of citizens.
Lee highlighted the necessity of respectful dialogue and constructive competition, calling for an end to "war-like politics filled with hostility." He also indicated his intention to maintain close communication with political leaders in the future.
With the DPK holding 171 of the 300 seats in parliament, and a total of 188 seats when combined with progressive minor parties, Lee is anticipated to have significant legislative support moving forward.

이 대통령은 "누구도 원하는 것을 100% 가질 수는 없다. 필요한 경우 양보하고 타협을 통해 대부분의 사람들이 동의하는 정책을 마련하여 모든 시민의 삶을 개선할 수 있기를 진심으로 바란다"고 전했다.
그는 존중하는 대화와 건설적인 경쟁의 중요성을 강조하며, "적대감이 가득한 전쟁 같은 정치"의 종식을 촉구했다.
이 대통령은 앞으로 정치 지도자들과 긴밀히 소통할 계획임을 밝혔다.
자유주의 성향의 민주당이 국회 300석 중 171석을 보유하고 있으며, 진보 성향의 소수당들과 함께 188석을 차지하고 있어 이 대통령은 강력한 입법 지원을 기대하고 있다.
